WHAT WE BELIEVE

ROOTED IN THE WORD

Lazarus Mission is an international missions organization. We believe the same Word that raised Lazarus from the grave still gives life today. These convictions shape everything we do and every partner we serve alongside.

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

WHAT WE HOLD TO BE TRUE

These are the historic truths of the Christian faith, taught from the Scriptures and shared with believers around the world.

01

THE SCRIPTURES

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God.

2 Timothy 3:15–17; 2 Peter 1:21
02

ONE TRUE GOD

We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30
03

JESUS CHRIST

We believe in the deity of Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return to earth in power and glory.

John 10:33; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:34–35; Hebrews 4:15, 7:26; John 2:11; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9; John 11:25; Mark 16:19; Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11–16
04

SALVATION BY GRACE

We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature; that all are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ; and that only by God’s grace, through faith alone, are we saved.

John 3:16–19; John 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8–9; Ephesians 2:8–10; Titus 3:5
05

THE RESURRECTION

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and those who are not unto the resurrection of damnation.

John 5:28–29
06

ONE BODY

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12–13; Galatians 3:26–28
07

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

Romans 8:13–14; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19–20; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18
08

THE LOVE OF GOD

We believe that we as Christians are examples of the love of God in this world. It is this (agape) love that we desire to possess, and without it we have no right to call ourselves Christians.

1 John 4:16–17
“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”
JOHN 11:25 (NKJV)
OUR MISSION

WHY WE GO

Lazarus Mission exists to unite churches and individuals behind the work of the gospel, so that believers are equipped, churches are established, and the name of Jesus is made known.

01

THE GREAT COMMISSION

We believe every believer is called to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to observe all that Jesus commanded, until the gospel has been preached to every people.

Matthew 28:18–20; Mark 16:15; Revelation 7:9
02

POWER FOR WITNESS

We believe the Holy Spirit empowers God’s people to be His witnesses, to their own neighbors and to the ends of the earth.

Acts 1:8
03

NEW LIFE FROM DEATH

As Jesus called Lazarus out of the grave, we believe God makes the spiritually dead alive together with Christ. No one is beyond His reach, and we go because people cannot believe in Him of whom they have not heard.

John 11:25, 43–44; Ephesians 2:4–5; Romans 10:14–15
04

RAISING UP LOCAL LEADERS

We believe the work belongs in the hands of faithful local believers. We serve the local church by equipping pastors, teachers, and leaders who will teach others also.

2 Timothy 2:2; Ephesians 4:11–12
